If you're looking for your orienteering fix over the holiday then SOS has a New Year's Novelty at Broaks Wood - & to keep your legs in action there are a number of our local parkruns...
Our next club training session will be at Knettishall Heath & is aimed at getting us up to speed with our orienteering. All welcome, whatever your current level of experience - you can download the details here.
The SuffOC championships were held at the WAOC event in Brandon Park on 29th October. Congratulations to Will - seen here being presented with the Punchbowl - as the overall winner, with Louise & Lizzie second & third respectively.
SuffoC members had their own 'Final Sprint' competition for the run-in on the last leg at the Compass Sport Final at Virtuous Lady, Horrabridge. Although they had been competing for several kilometres across the steep-sided valley on the edge of Dartmoor, some excellent split times were achieved on the final uphill section. Alesha & Jack were the overall winners, with times of 25 & 17 seconds respectively, & were awarded the coveted SuffOC mugs at the recent Brandon Park event. The full list can be viewed here & photos of some of our competitors in our Facebook album.
Congratulations to Alesha for being selected to receive the Simon Peck Award for her hard work & improved performance in orienteering during the 4 events in this year's Summer Series. The award was presented during the event at Brandon Park on Sunday.
